Everybody wants to be cooool - right? So here's a great way for you to be the cooooolest kid around. I'm talking about the totally awesome, gigantic corn maze at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. Where? Oh, never mind let your mom or dad worry about that just make the date, you know -set the scene- in other words, Get on over to The Amazing Maize Maze.

So-what is this thing?

Well a maze is a game you play, very much like a puzzle, with all these passageways and an endless numbers of turns, corners, and dead ends in which the object of the game is to find your way out. Usually you play mazes on a piece of paper with a pencil or pen. But this maze is far from usual. The paper in this maze is a really big field- I'm talking bigger than 4 football fields put together. The lines are made of giant corn stalks about 10 feet high. You may have

guessed it by now- YOU are the pen! You turn, and stop, and go, and stop, and turn, and stop, all the while trying to find your way out through all kinds of twisty pathways in the corn. Now remember, I said it was over 10feet tall so that means you can't begin to see out.

It's like being in a real video game! And just like in the games, there are surprises and tricks along the way. You'll find bridges that take you high above the corn, talk stations where you can talk to other people, game pieces that will complete a map if you get all of them, sliding boards, places to improve your health like water and shade, and if you are lucky -the end. Sorry- no extra lives in this game. You won't need them anyway. It usually takes about I hour to get out of the maze. And yes, you can record your high score to be seen by all the thousands who come after you until somebody beats your record. Sounds really fun and different doesn't it? We think so and so did the 50,000 people that visited us in 1998.

The Amazing Maize Maze is only part of the fun here at our farm. There is this really cool place that we call our courtyard. Its full of fun things to do like eating corn on the cob, going for a hayride, trying the other smaller mazes (no more corn) and petting or feeding the animals in the petting zoo. There is even a little wagon ride that takes you into the cornfield. Don't forget to visit our snack shack for treats like snow cones, ice cream, popcorn and drinks. If you can get some money from your parents the gift shop has some really cool T-shirts and souvenirs. You can even ride the Strasburg Railroad to our farm.

Birthday Parties!
A really exciting thing to do is have your Birthday Party here at the maze. Actually it happens right in the maze. We have a hidden party room right in the corn field that is decorated just for your special party. We also play a song that is dedicated to you over our big stereo.

Sometimes your parents just need a little nudging to spend some time as a family. Tell them how really cool this place looks and how you just have to get there, like, ..yesterday!!! If all that doesn't work try challenging them to beat your time out of the maze. Our facts show that kids are better at mazes than adults, but don't tell them that. You might hurt their ego!!
