Cherry Crest Adventure Farm's
2009 Potato Festival

This year our sign up sheets were full to overflowing for all our Potato Festival events. Our guests came ready to play and our staff worked hard to make sure that everyone had a fun time. This family friendly event grows in popularity year after year! (Click photos for larger view) Hot Potato We kicked the day off with hot potato, played with real hot potatoes. During the game, we learned a valuable lesson – when playing with real hot potatoes leave the potatoes in their foil! After replacing several broken potatoes, our staff quickly adapted. Everyone had a good laugh and a fun time. Potato Sack Race This intense race brought cheers from the crowd. Competitors suited up in their sack, put on their game faces and hopped like crazy to the finish! Potato Eating Contest
The best loved competition of the day was for kids of all ages. Don't worry this wasn't an all you can eat contest! The first person to finish one baked potato was declared the winner. The crowds roared. Potatoes, butter & sour cream were flying everywhere. Smiles were worn by all. We've never seen people eat so fast!

Potato Scramble

Our festival crew cleared out the Lil' Farmers Play Land and hid potatoes in every nook & cranny - hundreds of them in fact. Once the potatoes were in place, we called in the kids. After a few quick instructions, we turned them loose. It didn't take long before all the potatoes were found & the kids were happily enjoying their prizes.

Al Grout - Juggler & Magician
Al Grout took the stage with a high energy performance that captured everyone's attention. The tent had standing room only, as people crowded in to enjoy the show.
